Dear All
I also went to both shop as well, I think thier selling technique is very common in HK, if you like it, you pay, if you don’t like it , don;t pay, that is so simple.
I think most of the negative feeback is those whon like thier styles, but don’t want to leave depsoit and want to shop around, until the last minute, they go back and get the same discount, i don’t understand this logic. I think those brides are too greedy, they want everything.
For me I have shopped a few shops, then visit DBR, they have a very nice choices and I can understand why they have this policy, because their gowns are at lease 50% nicer then other shops in central and more choices, I can tell the different immediately.
After trying the gowns, I paid deposit and then after 2 more appointments, i found my dream gowns. Also, I knwo that why I have to pay the despoit to keep on trying, becasue they have over 1000 choices, how can they serve every brides to go through their dresses? and they said quite a lot of the clients are copy cat and thier competitors, that means they tried their gowns, then find a local tailor to make it, it is a fair deal to pay and use their service, right?
Next month is my big day, I am very happy about their after sales service as well and fitting of my gown is very nice, my mom and bridesmaid like it a lot.
A happy bride.

I am sure many brides are happy with LM/DBR’s service but yet, there are also many that have left the shop not-so-happily. From what I read and heard about the comments from other brides, what they were unsatisfied with LM/DBR was their attitude – the heavy selling technique, switching off the friendly mode once you declined to join their deposit program, not following through on the dress order etc, but not the deposit nor gown trial policy. (the bridal shop where I bought my gown from has a even harsher gown trial policy!) Among these I have only experienced the hard selling technique only. Since I have left the shop without paying deposit, LM has called me every 2 weeks to check on my gown hunting progress, and ask if I have bought the dress from other shop yet..but this was a year ago and I don’t know if they still use the same selling technique today.
LM/DBR has positioned themselves as a top tier bridal shop, but my experience made me feel LM/DBR was a place that sold high end gowns with金都 style selling technique, and I don’t think the technique is common in other top tier bridal shop in HK. May be this was just my bad luck but I know there are quite a few brides out there that feel the same way with me. I wouldn’t necessarily tell my friends and other bloggers to avoid LM/DBR as they do carry some nice gowns, just that at the time I did my gown hunting they didn’t have the style that I wanted, and were not the type of shop that I wanted most to give business to.
Anyways, I am truly glad to hear you are a happy LM/DBR bride. Every bride deserves a pleasant and fabulous experience in their gown purchase. And congrats on your upcoming wedding too!

As far as I know DBR’ labels has no dealer in HK yet. That is why they have such selling attitude.
